After a 20 gauge, rectangular piece of copper is annealed, it is rolled through a rolling mill to emboss a design into the metal.  It is then given a patina using chemicals to make the background dark.  Then the higher parts are sanded to make them bright and shiny then finally sealed.  These earrings have gold filled French ear wires.

Size: 1 1/2" long x 1/2" wide

The price of the earrings is $40. Shipping of $8 has been added to the total.

  • I have been an oil and acrylic painter for over 40 years.  In 1995 I took copper enameling classes and enjoyed the spontaneity of applying powdered glass to metal and watching what 90 seconds at 1500 degrees does to melt and fuse glass to the copper.  Then I started taking metal working classes to learn how to anneal and shape the metal with hammers and solder.  There is always an element of surprise which is very different from the painting process.
